Reading is fading fast in our screen-filled world. This change from books to quick digital bites risks losing deep thought and connection to great ideas from history.
Imagine living in the late 1800s. Artists like Van Gogh painted scenes of nature and stars. People held seances and sought messages from the dead. Shows by PT Barnum mixed real acts with tricks to amaze crowds everywhere. Music like ragtime filled the air with lively tunes.
Today things look very different. Phones and screens grab attention with short videos and posts. Fewer people pick up books for long reads. This shift makes it hard to focus and understand complex thoughts that once came from quiet reading time.
The loss of reading hurts society. It weakens our minds and cuts us off from past wisdom. To fight this, we must choose books again and value quiet focus over constant noise.
